With the October energy price cap due to be announced later this month, our thoughts are turning to how we can minimise the impact this will have on our finances. Although these sorts of problems can seem utterly out of our control, there are in fact a wide range of measures we can take.

You will find a variety of simple energy saving tips on our website - from choosing LED lightbulbs and opting for taking a shower over having a bath, to checking boiler efficiency and installing insulation - have a look at our Energy Saving Tips page.

Petersfield Area SuperHomes

Looking further to the future, considering longer term finances and making our homes both more resilient and kinder to the planet, you are warmly invited to reach out to the Petersfield Area SuperHomes (PASH) arm of PeCAN.

PeCAN has teamed up with the National Energy Foundation and local professional Retrofit Coordinators to offer independent, impartial assessments of your home which take into consideration your individual needs, and provide bespoke recommendations through a detailed plan. This is called the ‘Whole House Retrofit Plan’ and its aim is to improve the comfort, health and energy efficiency of your home by guiding you through a series of retrofit measures.

The plan is just a guide, you are in no way obliged to undertake all the recommended measures, and of course any changes you do make can be carried out at your own pace.

Please email [email protected] for more information and visit our website.

Home Heating Survey

The National Energy Foundation is delivering a ‘Heat Pump ready’ project in partnership with City Science and Oxfordshire City Council. As part of the project, a national research survey is to be completed by members of the public. This survey forms part of research into public awareness of environmentally-friendly heating systems. Specialist knowledge of heating systems is not required to participate.

The reward for completing this survey is one entry into a prize draw to win a £100 Amazon voucher

To be entered, please enter your email address at the end of the survey so that NEF can get in touch with you. The survey will take around 10 to 15 minutes to complete and is available to those residing in the UK and who do not currently have a Heat Pump installed in their home. Find the survey HERE.
