Volunteers at Petersfield Free Shop have paid thanks to the local community after huge donations of winter clothing as part of a new campaign.
The Free Shop, which is managed by East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership, runs at the Hub at Petersfield Railway Station. Staff put a call out to people in the area to donate their good quality coats, hats, scarves and gloves.
Lucy Lomax, who runs the free shop, said: "Volunteers enjoyed meeting a variety of both regular and new free shoppers. More than 122 coats found new homes and plenty of gloves, hats and scarves were handed out. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated and to the amazing volunteers who gave up time to make this happen."
The few surplus items at the end were donated to local homeless charities and children's coats and hats were given to Butser Ancient Farm to keep young visitors warm.
