Double your donation to Petersfield Climate Action Network during the Big Give’s Green Match Fund!
PeCAN is taking part in the Green Match Fund with the aim of raising £5,000 in just 1 week, from 12pm on Thursday 20th April until 12pm on Thursday 27th April. These funds will be used to further PeCAN’s aim of supporting Petersfield and the surrounding villages to reduce carbon emissions and protect nature.
Every pound raised will be doubled by Big Give and will be put to good use in our nature recovery efforts, schools and youth engagement work, local business support, home retrofit advice and community outreach events.
Amelia Gabriel, Programme Manager at PeCAN, said: “We were delighted to be selected for this match funding campaign. We hope to raise a total of £5,000 - so in order to access the £2,500 we have in the matching pot, we need to raise £2,500 in online donations.
"We hope you will help us reach our target and enable us to carry on the work we all feel so passionately about. As little as £5 will make a big difference.”
Last year PeCAN hosted the very successful Eco Fair on The Heath, in partnership with the Town Council, which attracted hundreds of visitors.
Over the winter months our increasingly popular A Fruit Tree in Every Garden project saw almost 600 subsidised fruit trees distributed in and around Petersfield, taking the total number to 950 since the project began in 2020.
We have been offering energy efficiency and retrofit support for two years, via the Petersfield Area SuperHomes project, with 480 households having received advice under the scheme.
This year, there are exciting plans for nature recovery, starting with a swifts project which will launch with a talk at Petersfield Museum on Tuesday, 25th April at 7pm.
In addition, PeCAN is launching a project to help local businesses become more sustainable and will also work with local schools, engaging with younger people in the area.
