The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) has asked the public for their comments on the scope and the focus of their review of the South Downs Local Plan. This is a really important document, as it will set the policies which guide all new development in the National Park.

It would be really useful if as many PeCAN supporters as possible responded to the consultation to stress the importance of planning for the effects of climate change, and for future resilience. PeCAN has prepared a response, which is in two parts.

We have prepared slides, which set out our view of the climate mitigation priorities for the South Down Local Plan.

Find the slides here.

In addition, we have prepared model answers to help you answer the specific questions within the SDNPA’s online consultation. (In the response 'we' refers to PeCAN as an organisation, but it is easy to change to 'I'.)

Find the model answers here.

All supporters are free to use any part of this response if they wish, and we encourage you to do so!
