National Highways have pledged to donate up to 600,000 trees annually to plant 3 million trees by 2030.

The Tree Council are helping National Highways to gift the trees to locations where they can have the most impact. The initiative demonstrates how low carbon initiatives can benefit both nature and communities.

The trees are being grown at Greenwood Plants, Arundel and are from British sourced seed and are 100% peat free. All available species are British native.

Petersfield Town Council have worked with The Tree Council to deliver the Bell Hill Community Planting project in Petersfield. This project is more than just planting trees - it represents a deep and lasting commitment to nature recovery, biodiversity, and climate resilience - from the council and the wider community.

This initiative wouldn’t have been possible without the valued partnership with The Tree Council, and the dedication of Town Council councillors, council Officers, and the ever-passionate Petersfield Tree Wardens.
