This Saturday marks the start of the Great Big Green Week - the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature, which sees thousands of events held in celebration. We have a few events happening in Petersfield we would encourage you to attend, if you can.

World Swift Day Stall

On Saturday 6th June, we invite you to join us at St Peter's Church to celebrate our wonderful swifts! Take this opportunity to view the swift boxes installed in the church tower and find out, from Hampshire Swifts, whether you could have one installed on your property - thereby taking part in our Swift Streets project. Analysis of data collected in Winchester over the last few years shows how its swift population has risen due to the installation of multiple nest boxes. Enjoy an interactive stall, with crafty activities for children and fun for the whole family. Refreshments will be available, too. Due to the weather we will be inside the church to the right, between 10am-12pm.

Energy Advice Eco Cafe

On Tuesday 9th June we will have a special Energy Advice Eco Cafe session in the Perry Room at Winton House. Drop in whenever you like between 10.30am-1pm to speak to our energy adviser Neil, and some of our Energy Champions too. Bring your questions and queries about all things home energy related. Thinking about solar panels but not sure where to start? Seen an advert for heat pumps but still have questions? We’re here to help. Being energy efficient isn’t just about saving money - it’s about making your home more comfortable, and ready for the future. Find out what's available to you, including grants and funding opportunities. Enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with unbiased, pressure-free advice - plus free tea and coffee!

Himalayan Balsam Removal Work Parties (1)

Himalayan Balsam Removal

At 1pm on Sunday 14th June we invite you to join the first in a series of work parties at both Goodyer Meadow and Rotherlands Nature Reserve, aiming to remove the invasive plant Himalayan balsam, which poses a problem for native flora and fauna and contributes to riverbank erosion. We are collaborating with both Western Sussex Rivers Trust and Petersfield Town Council on this project. Find more information and further opportunities to get involved here and please email us if you would like to volunteer.
