PeCAN is pleased to offer you the opportunity to visit a local ‘Warm Open Home’ to speak to the homeowner directly about the energy saving improvements they have made. You can look at the technology, ask residents about the installation process, and find out how much they are really saving on their energy bills as a result.
We are delighted that some of our Energy Champions have agreed to open their homes, to showcase what they have done to make their homes more warm and comfortable, while saving energy and cutting their carbon emissions.

The Warm Open Homes initiative is one aspect of the home energy support we offer. Our My Home Made Better service offers free, independent advice, and recognises that widely available, generic information on heat pumps, insulation and solar panels is not enough. You need relatable guidance unique to your home. Advisers understand the demand for access to reliable, trustworthy advice, without feeling under pressure to commit to work you’re not comfortable with. There is no cost for this service. Recipients have told PeCAN that the advice offered is ‘clear and extremely helpful’.

HEAT / THERMAL BATTERY TECHNOLOGY - Tepeo ZEB boiler
The ZEB is powered by electricity and works like a battery to store energy as heat until it is needed. Typically there are no changes required to the radiators and pipework although you will need a hot water tank if you don't already have one.
Heat battery systems can be a good alternative to Air Source Heat Pumps where there maybe restrictions or difficulties specifying a heat pump but wanting an electric based heating option.
