📢 A special community screening: the People’s Emergency Briefing

What’s happening with our climate and the natural world, and what does it mean for everyday life in the UK?

Join us for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing - an eye-opening film, bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for:

🌧️ Extreme weather
🍞 Food security
🏥 Health
💷 Cost of living

The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing delivered in Westminster last November (and featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times), with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK.

After the film there will be a short open discussion with a panel about what it means for our community and what we can do locally.

We will be joined by our local MP, Damian Hinds, and look forward to the opportunity for constituents to have this important discussion about our future.

Our panel will include:

Damian Hinds MP - Damian was first elected in 2010 as the MP for East Hampshire, and was re-elected in 2015, 2017, and 2019. He is committed to working hard to support the many excellent East Hampshire businesses, charities and organisations. His areas of interest include business, the economy, tackling disadvantage and widening opportunity.

Aimee Felus - Aimee is Chief Executive of Western Sussex Rivers Trust and has worked with water for 18 years, specialising in water quality issues, nature-based solutions and community engagement. Rivers captivate Aimee, for their vital place in the natural world, for their role in our culture and all that they offer to us.

Paul Turner - Paul is Education Lead for the Ministry of Eco Education, a charity supporting educators across the country to weave sustainability through their teaching. He is also author of 'How to save the planet; Teaching the climate emergency in primary schools'. Paul developed the 'National Emergency Briefing for School Teachers' which is currently touring school staffrooms this term.

The film will be shown in The Studio at The Petersfield School (Cranford Road GU32 3LU). Seats are free but limited, so please book in advance. Doors open at 6.30pm and the film will start at 7pm.

Please note that the film contains intermittent use of bad language, and is not recommended for under 16s.
