Petersfield’s network of streams plays a vital role in supporting wildlife and connecting our town to the wider river system, flowing via the Rother and Arun rivers to the sea at Littlehampton. However, these waterways face growing pressures from pollution, litter, habitat modification and plastic waste.

To help protect and restore our local streams, the Final Straw Foundation, supported by PeCAN and the Western Sussex Rivers Trust, will be leading a two-day River Clean on 18th and 19th September, from 9.30am-4pm.

Volunteers will help clear litter from the Criddell Stream and South Stream near Tesco on Friday 18th, and from Tilmore Brook near Herne Farm Leisure Centre on Saturday 19th.
