Do you know that there are several local upcoming General Election climate hustings events?

This is your opportunity to ask local prospective parliamentary candidates about their policies on climate change and nature.

Conservatives say they will cut the cost of tackling climate change for households and business, and deliver net-zero by 2050; Labour tells us they will make Britain a clean energy superpower to cut bills, create jobs and deliver security with cheaper, zero-carbon electricity by 2030; the Liberal Democrats say that they are committed to cutting greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2045 at the latest; the Green Party say that we need £40bn investment per year in the shift to a green economy over the course of the next Parliament; and Reform UK claim that we should not impoverish ourselves in pursuit of unaffordable, unachievable global CO2 targets.

Alton Climate Action Network, Headley CAN and Cycle Alton have worked together to provide information to help voters compare candidates’ policies and priorities on environmental action. To find out what candidates from East Hampshire and Alton and Bordon constituencies had to say click here.
