With day-long live music, it will be a celebratory occasion. Family activities will include crafts, storytelling and face painting, and there will be delicious food and drinks, sustainable products and fascinating stalls on offer. Everyone is invited to this free event, organised by PeCAN and Petersfield Town Council, with extra funding from East Hants District Council.
Children’s activities include making a Climate Change Canary, contributing to our large barn owl collage, finding out about hedgehogs, creating 'tinyfeet - hugehands' monsters, and getting creative with a variety of crafting challenges. Take part in an ‘eco tips’ stamp hunt, listen to Bluebird Storyteller under the big tree, and collect a free voucher for Sparkleface face painting - donations are voluntary.
Would you like to find out more about how you can help support wildlife, and give nature a boost locally? Are you interested in making your home energy supply more sustainable, or intrigued about community energy? Do you want to explore active travel and electric vehicles - or perhaps you’re keen to find eco alternatives to standard beauty products? If so, come along next Sunday to meet local groups and companies who will be able help.
Langham Brewery returns to the Fair offering much needed liquid refreshments, and Crepe Britain will be back too, along with Florio's Pizza offering a taste of Italy, Roots Vegan Food with their delicious plant-based fare, My Little Coffee Co for that caffeine kick and more, and Dylan's Ice Cream who use fresh ingredients from local farms.
Live music kicks off at 10.30am with S.O.S From The Kids, a group of young people who love singing and want to protect nature. The line-up will include foot-tapping hits from the 50s 60s and 70s, nature warrior rock, a mix of folk, Irish, rock and blues and up-tempo traditional tunes. Something for everyone!
And don't forget that our photography and writing competitions winners will be announced in the music tent at 2pm…
We encourage you to avoid waste by bringing reusable cups and bottles for drinks – alternatively please bring £1 coins for our cup deposit scheme. It's also a good idea to bring some cash with you in case of card machine or network coverage failure. The event will be run using batteries charged by renewable energy and bike racks will be available. Everyone is welcome - and if you can walk, cycle or use public transport to get there that’s even better!
