PeCAN has been accepted onto the Big Give Earth Raise Fund this year...and our fundraising page is now live !
We are aiming to raise £8,000 in just one week - that's £4,000 from your online donations that will be matched pound for pound by the Big Give’s Earth Raise Fund. We will use these funds to help Petersfield and local communities reduce their carbon emissions, protect nature, improve resilience, and adapt to the changing climate.
Every pound raised will be put to good use in our nature recovery efforts, schools and youth engagement work, local business support, home energy advice and community outreach events.
Brand new for 2026, we have established a Petersfield Repair Cafe - which has got off to a flying start. We look forward to making a real impact on carbon emissions and consumerism locally in the coming months, as the project becomes more established.
Over the winter months our fantastically successful A Fruit Tree in Every Garden project saw another 550 fruit trees distributed in and around Petersfield, taking the total number to more than 3,500 since the project began in 2020!
We continue to offer home energy support via the My Home Made Better project, which has recently celebrated it's first birthday. This initiative has quickly become the region’s trusted energy advice service for homeowners looking for free, impartial help with future proofing their homes. From phone calls to home visits, community events to webinars, energy advisers have delivered more than 2,000 advice sessions across Hampshire, Southampton and Portsmouth.
PeCAN also offers free eco workshops and assemblies to local schools, and for the year up until the end of March, we delivered 22 assemblies across 11 schools to 2,455 children and 68 workshops in 12 schools to 1,931 children. With thanks to the SDNPA for their funding and our growing team of fabulous education volunteers, who have been supporting and delivering sessions within schools alongside our existing educators.
In 2024 we hosted a second very successful Petersfield Eco Fair, in partnership with the Town Council, which welcomed 1,500 visitors. The event returns to The Heath on Sunday 12th July this year (so save the date!).
